Powerless?

"And if all this had been too little, I would have given you even more. Why did you despise the word of the Lord by doing what is evil in his eyes?" This is Nathan speaking to David on behalf of God Himself. It is right after David committed adultery with Bathsheba and had her husband Uriah killed in battle to cover up the fact that she was pregnant by David.

David had been given everything he ever dreamed of from God. He had not only the possessions and wealth, status and honor, but had God's own heart! Yet, as it says in Scripture...it wasn't enough obviously. David turned and sinned and created calamity on his household and destruction by the sword.

Everything was going David's way...he killed tens of thousands of people, beat Goliath the giant, stared terror in the face and was victorious, yet he couldn't stand on his own and beat the temptation of another woman.

Who or what is your Bathsheba? Everyone has something in their life that will snatch them up, if unprotected by God, and eat them alive in sin. I ask that question because it is real. It is true. being able to stop and think about what "thing" is your weak point. If you know what your weakness is, you can be better prepared to deal with it when it comes your way. Not on your own, of course, but with God's help.

Don't be like David and have everything going your way to only mess it up by your own weakness. Rely on God daily and you will be given protection to stand firm in the face of your temptation. We may not have been made perfect...but we certainly have the power through the Holy Spirit to avoid all evil and sin...so use it! Don't waste what is already in you!

My core synergies workout was a first today. New routine, new feelings, new sore muscles! I am cranking it out. Diet is good...feeling great. Seeing the results. Can't wait to see the first 30 day pics results...already can tell from my vantage point (belt loop, hah).
